Skin Care Ingredients– Aloe Vera
To produce aloe Vera gel, the matured leaves of aloe Vera are harvested when the plant is about 4 years old from the whole leaf, the product is then stabilized, antioxidants, preservatives and thickening agents are also added to prevent contamination, chemical or physical change.
The aloe vera gel contains at least six antiseptic agents:
lupeol, salicyclic acid, urea nitrogen, cinnamonic acid, phenols and sulphur.
All of which are recognized antiseptics because they either kill or control mould, bacteria, fungus and virus.
It also contains at least three anti- inflammatory fatty acids-
cholestrol, campersterol and beta- sitosterol
which explains why it is quite effective for treating burns, scrapes, cuts allergic reactions etc.
Is there 100% pure Aloe Vera?
There really isn’t any 100% pure aloe vera sold, because pure aloe vera gel needs to be preserved before being sold otherwise it would rot or ferment long before reaching the point of sale.
Benefits of aloe vera in skin care

- Aloe vera can be used as a cleanser for removing light make-up, dust, grease, oiliness, perspiration etc.
- Aloe vera is used as an after waxing relief. The gel applied all over the waxed areas help to soothe, moisturize, heal and cool the waxed area.
- Aloe vera gel can be used as an excellent natural after shave lotion, applied either by itself or with a few drops of lime, lavender or rose oil
