Chocolate Spa Skincare Workshop

After years of being incorrectly blamed for causing acne, chocolate has redeemed itself as the new skin saviour at spas around the world. Classic confection brands often market their own massage creams and treatments alongside off-brands with a basic cocoa base.

Chocolate Spa Workshop

This is a hands –on class teaching the art and skill of producing gorgeous chocolate skincare products from a wide variety of natural and organic skincare products.

Cocoa (Theobroma cacao) is famous for its role in the addictive and delicious food we call ‘chocolate’. Since the discovery of polyphenols and their antioxidant power, the health benefits of chocolate have been emphasised. The consumption of cacao rich in antioxidants called ‘flavanols’ has been reported to have beneficial health effects.

Spas all over the world offer luxurious chocolate facials to rejuvenate, detoxify and brighten the skin. Chocolate has a rich profile of anti-ageing ingredients and skin-nutrients that make it a valid ingredient for product formulation.

We will be using cocoa butter and raw cocoa powder both rich in important antioxidant compounds and other skin nourishing nutrients to formulate exquisite spa chocolate products.

As this is a spa course, you won’t be learning to make every day skincare but you’ll be creating the kind of specialist products that a spa would use when they perform chocolate facials. Products such as:

  • Chocolate serum
  • Chocolate facial masques
  • Chocolate facial polish
  • Chocolate facial mist
  • Chocolate facial mousse.
  • Chocolate  Lip balm

Who is this course for?

  • Anyone interested in making Spa chocolate products for themselves or for others
  • Salon and spa owners who want to make their own products to enhance the service they provide for their clients.

Certification

Certificates will be awarded at the full completion of the course, to show that participants have attended and completed a Formula Botanicax Chocolate spa Workshop.

Note that all skin care products intended for sale to the public must be laboratory tested to ensure safety before sale.
